MIA’s unique programme is blend of theory with action which delivers a compelling proposition to start-ups needing business and management skills supported by real-time practical problem solving abilities, which our capability with trademark around the world.

The course is based on the outcomes of MI-Ashanti's completed academic research study, which was part of an International Business in Administration Degree with Business School Netherlands. The dissertation topic is: How to reduce the failure rate of start-up Entrepreneurs in the 21st Century.

This course is a one of its kind and is driven by the methodology of Action Learning with proven results. Those who successfully complete the course will receive a SAQA certificate.

Wendy van Schalkwyk  is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of MI-Ashanti International (Pty) and has worked as a management consultant to global companies, based in South Africa.

She has over 15 years of general management experience and a post-grad Public Relations Management accreditation from PRISA. She is currently completing her International Masters in business administration (IMBA) with Business School Netherlands and is in the process of making her final submission of her thesis: How to reduce the failure rate of Start-up Entrepreneurs in the 21st Century.

 

Wendy has facilitated training at Silicon’s Cape’s Master Class via their MTN Silicon Cape Start-Up Entreprenuer Accelerator Programme being implemented at The University of Cape Town’s Graduate School of Business and at Living Hope NGO over the past 4 months. She worked as the Stakeholder Relations Manager to the Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Town and worked for the world’s leading advertising, marketing and communications companies.

Lizelle Coombs is a professional facilitator, trainer and mentor, working in under resourced areas and has developed training materials and programs for business incubators, entrepreneurs and employees of corporate companies. 

 

Lizelle co-founded a number of commercial business ventures during the last 10 years, most of which she is still actively involved in.

Her fondness of working with micro-entrepreneurs and the diverse communities in South Africa, motivated the birth of an NPO, Angels Resource Centres, in early 2015.

 

Formally she holds a Bachelor’s degree in social anthropology and psychology and has many years of experience in Entrepreneurship, Enterprise Development, Facilitation of Workshops and Business Information Sessions, Marketing & Public Relations; Project & Event Management, mentoring and public speaking 

 

Lizelle has designed a variety of entrepreneurial workshops that have been hosted throughout the Western Cape as part of various Enterprise Development Projects.
